Borchardt Model 1893 Semi-Automatic Pistol, by Loewe


Rare and Desirable Borchardt Model 1893 Semi-Automatic Pistol, by Loewe, with case and accessories, #769, 7.62x25mm Borchardt cal., 7.5" barrel, blue finish, straw and niter blue small parts, finely checkered walnut grips with smooth borders. Right side of frame is marked "System Borchardt Patent"; top of toggle marked "D.R.P. / No. 75837" denoting patent; chamber area marked "Waffenfabrik / Lowe / Berlin".  Presented in case with combination shoulder stock/holster, as well as cheekpiece numbered to the gun, magazine hold open device/oiler, three magazines numbered to the gun, oil bottle, grease tin and brass rod.  This early production variant was mfg'd by Ludwig Lowe who was responsible for the first approx. 1000 of the 3000 produced.  Condition is excellent with thinning to the niter-blue small parts, very minor surface corrosion to the right side of barrel and high edges where the pistol has stayed in contact with the holster.  Grips with very minor flattening to the checks.  Magazine hold open not numbered to the gun.  Action functions as designed, bore remains bright.  Case shows very little wear and may be relined.  Leather holster with moderate crazing and general wear.  An excellent example of an early semi-automatic pistol in one of its earliest forms.  Est.: $32,500-$37,500.  (Antique)
